About: Agência Lupa is an organization dedicated to producing verified and useful information, providing its readers and partners with the tools to navigate the landscape of informational disorder safely and responsibly. Operating in the Brazilian media market for over a decade, Lupa is a benchmark in discussions regarding fake news and information integrity. We believe in collaboration as a key value in the digital information environment, building solutions in partnership with other journalism and education organizations, public institutions, and private companies to bring useful, fair, and safe information to as many people as possible.

Role: Product Owner / Project Manager / Product Designer

The Challenge: To create a new Content Management System (CMS) and a new website. The objective was to understand the needs of both internal users (CMS) and external users (website) to create a new management platform for the news portal. Responsibilities included defining priorities and scope of work, hiring the vendor for execution, end-to-end project management, design and prototyping, go-live, and monitoring final delivery.

The Solution: Lupa was previously using a platform ill-suited for news management (Storyblok). Originally designed more for e-commerce, the tool was adapted but resulted in numerous errors, poor usability, a lack of support, high costs, and limited management capabilities. After quantitative and qualitative investigation, interviews, and market research, we selected the industry standard: WordPress. We partnered with Seox, a company specialized in news portals with expertise in building CMSs and sites using WordPress. The project spanned 11 months—from discovery to delivery—requiring intense dedication from the entire Agência Lupa and Seox teams.

Tools: WordPress, Google Apps, Figma, and Analytics.

Status: Completed in November 2025.

Results: We successfully delivered a robust, reliable, and more cost-effective platform—a tool built specifically for its purpose: news publishing and content management. Internal and external user satisfaction was evident in the very first post-launch survey. While access numbers and analytics are still being assessed, early data indicates a massive improvement compared to the previous product. The new site was launched on November 5, 2025, and is a success.
